The village of Kisselevzy is situated in the west of Belarus not far from the town of Kobrin. There are one thousand inhabitants, 350 housholds. Among them 260 are retired people, 250 young people. The village has a local post office and bank, a shop, a drug-store, a small medical center, a school and a kindergarten, a house of culture and a library. The collective agricultural enterprise to which the village belongs, has 4 dairy farms, a large cattle center, a mixed feed producing plant, small wood processing and meat processing shops, a fruit and vegetable gardens, lorries and tractors divisions, a bath-house and sauna.
Almost all people of the village work. The wages are very low and they get their living mostly from their own gardens and domestic animals. There are 151 children in the local school. Senior children can get qualifications of a driver, tractor-driver, turner, fitter, seamstress, shop-assistant at school. There is a Russian orthodox church in the village. It exists for 5 years. The old building of the church was ruined in the years of atheism. The orthodox church opened Sunday school this year. The Baptist church was registered in 1994. It has 22 members. We meet in a private house. It belongs to one of our members. Sunday school lessons are held in our house. The House of Prayer is being under construction. We think that our village is a good place for ministry. The people have to be enlightened in the spiritual issues.
Now we have 25 children in our Sunday school. There are two groups. The boys and girls like to sing and to play together. They learn the scriptures, perform plays. Our lessons are not boring. Some children attend the lessons in both groups. The children also take part in our worship. Oleg often has to lead the meetings because our pastor is at work at this time. We work not only spiritually but on the construction site of the House of Prayer. The construction had to be stopped because of bad weather.
